The “First Steps” challenge is open to community members of all fitness levels and includes optional side tasks to enhance the walking experience. As part of the Active Abu Dhabi initiative's "First Steps" challenge, citizens of Abu Dhabi have begun to take 6,000 steps every day. The challenge is being held in collaboration with PureHealth and the Emirates Foundation.
The challenge is open to community members of all fitness levels and includes optional side tasks to enhance the walking experience. The 14-day celebration runs until March 31 in Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi. The event began on March 18 and is open every day from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Three thousand of the 6,000 steps in Active Abu Dhabi's First Steps walking challenge may be completed each day on the 1.2 km walking path at Umm Al Emarat Park.
There are alternative daily tasks added to the challenge that will allow participants to "elevate their walking journey." On-site at the Active Abu Dhabi Information Desk are add-on challenges.
