The Donate Your Own Device (DYOD) programme, started by the Digital School, an initiative started by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has received 450 laptops from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The DYOD initiative seeks to gather used electronics from private donors and institutional contributors, refurbish them, and recycle them to benefit disadvantaged students throughout the world by improving their access to education through digital means and ensuring they have access to top-notch educational opportunities.
The "DYOD" effort aims to enlist the most institutions possible in providing students with 10,000 electronic gadgets by accepting donations of extra and outdated computers and electronics. Institutions that participate will get a certificate for their contribution to sustainability and recycling. This is RTA's first commitment to the initiative launched this year to support students in need by helping them complete their educational needs, which includes the provision of laptops to support ongoing study. This promotes communication between professors and underprivileged students and enables students to stay up to date on the most recent scientific papers.
The Digital School implemented educational programmes through local and international collaborations that helped provide over 50,000 possibilities for digital education in 8 nations. By the end of 2026, the school hopes to have one million students enrolled.
According to a recent source, RTA's Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) would roll out modern buses to service roughly 25,000 students throughout Dubai for the new academic year 2023–2024. In order to guarantee kids' safe journey to and from school, DTC's school transport fleet complies with the highest quality and safety local and international requirements.
