Dubai's Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has launched Picasso Days Marking the birthday of artist Pablo Picasso

News EventPicasso Days, an initiative of Dubai's Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, is being held in honour of artist Pablo Picasso's birthday. The initiative was launched by Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, and will last for a week. Several activities are planned for the occasion to showcase the well-known artist's artistic heritage.
As part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library's monthly 'Library Days' initiative, the event honours notable authors, academics, and artists. More than fifty visual artists' abstract art pieces that draw inspiration from Picasso's school are on display during the event.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, inaugurated the event, which is scheduled to run for a week. To celebrate the legacy of a prominent artist many events have been scheduled.
The audience and artists participated widely and showed tremendous interest on the first day. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Theatre's "Psychological Dimensions in Picasso's Paintings" lecture was among the events. Mona Al Jabali talked about Picasso's various artistic phases, including the Blue and Pink periods, while Ali Al Abdan discussed the importance of lines in Picasso's paintings and how they affected his work. Abdul-Jabbar Wais summarised Picasso's life and examined the Guernica painting.
