Dubai residents will soon be able to pay their utility bills through DEWAs Ramas ChatGPT

According to a senior official, residents of Dubai will soon be able to use the Ramas ChatGPT app from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) to pay their energy bills.

Rammas ChatGPT, the utility services provider's virtual employee, was first introduced in 2017. A new version was produced in 2023 that used ChatGPT's generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to provide additional capabilities and thorough information. In terms of transactional services, it plans to deliver further services and solutions shortly.

Dewa is presenting more than 20 initiatives and solutions centred on artificial intelligence, smart cities, and technology and capabilities linked to sustainability.

The utilities services company is also expanding its Dewaverse platform, an immersive user experience that lets consumers conduct transactions and communicate with a virtual agent.
