NewsOn the night of Eid Al Adha, Dubai International Airport introduced new children's passport control counters in the arrival halls of Terminals 1 and 2, after the successful introduction in Terminal 3 on Eid Al Fitr. The project intends to leave a lasting impact on kid travellers by allowing them to participate in the passport stamping procedure and building cultural bonds.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, paid an inspection visit to see how work at the passport check area was progressing. Al Marri noticed the different systems in place, the airport's readiness, and the short reaction times to ensure high standards of new international services during his trip. He also went through the technical and support teams' preparations for the heavy passenger traffic during Eid Al Adha.
The children's passport counters are meant to captivate the eye with an amazing combination of traditional Emirati history and modern components that reflect the emirate's cultural revival. The counters, which depict camels decorated with astronauts, represent the fusion of ancient origins and technological progress. The floor of the counters is ornamented with welcoming slogans in a variety of languages and brilliant colours, intended to resonate with the children's different origins.
During Eid Al Fitr, 10,423 children used Terminal 3's children's passport control counters. This has prompted the authorities to extend the service to the remaining ports.
