Dubai Airports signs an agreement with Dubai Autism Center to make airport travel easier for those with autism

NewsDubai Airports has entered into an arrangement with the Dubai Autism Centre to make airport travel simpler for people with autism. The agreement aligns with the UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021, both of which seek to create Dubai the world's foremost disability-friendly metropolis. DXB and Dubai Autism Centre have been collaborating over the last year, and DXB was awarded an autism-friendly designation in November 2022.They received this award for their efforts to improve the airport experience for persons with hidden impairments. This was accomplished by establishing an autism-friendly pathway with preferential access via check-in and passport clearance.
The airport also hired specially trained personnel (marked by a sunflower pin) who were equipped to assist individuals of determination. To access this service, you must get a sunflower lanyard from one of the following locations which includes Terminal 3 Departures, Terminal 3 Arrivals, Terminal 3: Connections, Terminal 1 Departures, Terminal 1 Arrivals, Terminal 2 Departures, Terminal 2 Arrivals.
The airport's future plans include introducing quiet areas for travellers who are experiencing sensory overload.
