Arabia Taxi has e signs an exclusive agreement to add 269 Model 3 Teslas to the Dubai taxi fleet in April 2023

According to an exclusive arrangement signed with Arabia Taxi, 269 Model 3 Teslas would be added to the fleet of Dubai taxis in April 2023. For a Tesla ride, standard taxi fares apply.

By 2027, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai hopes to have all cabs operated by Dubai Taxi and franchise businesses be 100% eco-friendly (hybrid, electric, and hydrogen).

Sheikh Majid bin Hamad Al Qasimi, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Economic Group, said 83 per cent of the cars in its Dubai fleet are currently operating with environment-friendly hybrid engine technology.

The business is developing a strategy to turn the remaining cars into entirely electric ones, and it's also thinking about the prospect of employing hydrogen-powered automobiles in the future. To give its customers a variety of sustainable and ecologically friendly mobility options, it is eager to expand its partnership with Tesla and other electric car manufacturers, according to Sheikh Majid.

The move, according to Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the RTA's Public Transport Agency, will help "promote the Dubai government's initiative to introduce green vehicles for a cleaner environment."
