Kalba city in Sharjah emirate will introduce paid public parking starting February 1. The Kalba Municipality, in collaboration with Sharjah City Municipality, announced that the initiative aims to organize parking usage and curb its misuse amid the city’s ongoing development.
Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei, Director of Kalba Municipality, noted that the city’s rapid growth and rising number of projects have increased tourist influx, leading to greater demand for parking spaces. He added that imposing fees on public parking will help prevent misuse and ensure better availability for visitors coming from outside the city.
According to Al Mazrouei, the paid parking system will operate from 8 am to 10 pm, remaining free on Fridays and official holidays, except for designated areas with blue informational signs, where charges will apply throughout the week.
