Abu Dhabi’s public squares, main roads, and bridges are all glittering with lights to welcome Eid Al Fitr

Abu Dhabi's public spaces, major thoroughfares, and bridges are all decked out in sparkling lights on account of Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) stated in a statement on Wednesday (April 19) that the colourful lights, which are set up as well-known patterns connected with Eid celebrations, are meant to spread joy and foster a sense of community across the emirate.

The Eid lights were added to the Ramadan decorations by municipal crews in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain, and the Al Dhafra district. Geometric designs, stars, the Eid crescent, and many Eid greetings, such as "Eid Mubarak" and "May you have many happy returns," are among the motifs employed.

In order to foster a spirit of celebration and joy, Abu Dhabi has put these holiday lights over the past few years. Decorative components for celebrating Eid are a well-known tradition in the Arab world. The city's main bridges, Khaleej Al Arabi Street, and Corniche Street are all specially lit in the capital city.

Residents have also been told by the DMT that the decorative pieces are made from sustainable and environmentally acceptable materials, are weather-resistant, and adhere to the strictest safety regulations.
