This summer, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality planted around 5 million flowers. The initiative, led by the operations departments of its sub-municipalities, intends to improve the visual appeal of Abu Dhabi and its surrounding territories, therefore upgrading the overall environment of the city and its suburbs.
Under the direction of top management, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality has set an ambitious goal of planting 10 million flowers by 2023. Several municipal centres, including Musaffah, Al Wathba, Al Shahama, Madinat Zayed, and the City Municipality Centre, have carried out their flower distribution and planting programmes successfully. Through the 10 million flowers project, each centre has already met 100% of its beautifying goals, contributing to the overall objective of creating an amazing spectacle with a broad array of forms and hues.
Summer and winter flowers were carefully picked for their bright colours, compelling aesthetics, and delectable smells. These flowers are intentionally planted in high-traffic areas to add to the elegance and appeal of the city's important landmarks and amenities. The Municipality is focusing on unique floral arrangements that defy traditions and rethink the region's aesthetic qualities. Every flower variety utilised is chosen after careful consideration of unique site demands, colour coordination with existing plants, size, growth patterns, and perfume.
The Municipality urged inhabitants and visitors to public facilities to actively conserve flowers, green areas, flora, and trees, therefore making the city one of the most beautiful, prestigious, and soul-soothing in the world.
