A state-of-the-art truck equipped with AI systems and tools keeps air quality in Dubai better

In addition to the city's permanent monitoring stations, the cutting-edge mobile air quality monitoring station provides real-time data and aids authorities in closely monitoring air pollution levels to ensure cleaner, healthier air for all. It is a truck outfitted with artificial intelligence systems and tools.

Dubai Municipality is showcasing its state-of-the-art mobile laboratory for air quality monitoring at this week's 30th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress in Dubai through a presentation.

This sophisticated system provides real-time data on pollution levels throughout the city using cutting-edge sensor technologies.

Nearly 100 elements and compounds of air pollutants, including dangerous pollutants, volatile organic compounds, ozone catalysts, heavy metal concentration rate, and odor-causing gases, are tracked by the vehicle's approximately 20 sophisticated monitoring systems. It also tracks weather information, radioactive contamination levels, and noise.

Through constant monitoring of air quality, the system facilitates prompt and informed action by officials to improve air quality, guaranteeing a healthier atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

The mobile station was introduced to improve the municipality's network and air pollution monitoring system, which at the time included 13 permanent stations spread around the emirate.

The mobile system offers far more flexibility and coverage than the stationary air quality monitoring stations, ensuring precise assessment of the entire city.

Through the use of real-time data analysis and smart sensor technologies, the Municipality is better able to identify pollution sources and put focused mitigation plans in place. Enhancing public health and advancing Dubai's long-term sustainability objectives are the goals of this.

In addition to the mobile air monitoring system, the Dubai Municipality is showcasing several other cutting-edge ideas at the show with the goal of achieving its vision of a sustainable, smart city. One of the highlights is a smart cleaning vehicle that runs entirely on AI and doesn't require human involvement, greatly increasing the effectiveness of city services.
