Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, has revealed that construction has commenced on Dubai’s first flying taxi station. The new "vertiport" will be located near Dubai International Airport and aims to accommodate the city’s innovative transport vision.
The Crown Prince shared that this station will have the capacity to serve 170,000 passengers annually. Additional stations are planned for key areas, including Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah, to create a convenient network for flying taxis across the city.
The first phase will include stations in Downtown, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah, with services expected to launch by 2026. Dubai remains dedicated to pioneering global mobility by focusing on innovation, safety, and sustainability.
The air taxi station will span 3,100 square meters and include parking facilities, two take-off and landing zones for air taxis, as well as parking and charging stations. The station will also feature an air-conditioned arrivals hall to welcome passengers. The terminal is designed to handle up to 42,000 air taxi landings annually, with an estimated capacity to serve 170,000 passengers each year.
