Abu Dhabi is set to launch the UAE's first trial vertiport, an initiative by The Advanced Mobility Hub (AMH), a subsidiary of Multi Level Group, aiming to promote sustainable urban air mobility. As part of this project, AMH will also conduct the first self-driving drone test at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal in Port Zayed, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Ports Group. The trial focuses on developing sustainable transport solutions using electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with capacities for two to five passengers, as well as autonomous logistics services for both heavy and light cargo.
According to Mohamed Salah, CEO of Multi Level Group, the project aims to enrich the experience of cruise passengers by offering aerial tours over Abu Dhabi’s scenic spots, contributing to increased tourism activity and more sustainable entertainment options within the emirate. Salah emphasized that these developments are intended to lengthen tourists' stays and provide eco-friendly experiences.
Additionally, a partnership between ADNOC, AD Ports Group, Multi Level Group, and e& will explore the use of eVTOLs for cargo operations. This initiative seeks to boost efficiency and reduce both operational costs and carbon emissions, especially within the petroleum services sector, both on land and offshore. The partnership will also facilitate an exchange of expertise on leveraging AI solutions to improve services and further sustainable energy practices in these critical areas.
