The next edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week will be held at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP28

The UAE and Masdar, a leading provider of sustainable energy, will host the second Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) at the COP28 of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2023. The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will serve as the event's patron, and in keeping with the President's desire to promote sustainability as a foundational element of the UAE's economic and social progress and prosperity, ADSW will be instrumental in maintaining the momentum for global climate action at COP28 by facilitating impactful and inclusive dialogue between all global stakeholders and translating pledges into workable solutions for a net-zero future.

The "United on Climate Action at COP28" theme will be the focus of the ADSW Summit, which will be held on December 4 at the Connect Conference Centre in Expo City Dubai. This event will bring together progressive leaders from the public sector, civil society, and business to discuss how to hasten the just transition to a net-zero future. The summit, which is being held on COP28's theme finance day, will discuss topics including investing for inclusion and climate finance and outline strategies for accelerating sustainable development globally.

ADSW will operate as a conduit for thought leadership, by holding events in both the blue and green zones throughout COP28, facilitating timely and pertinent climate action discourse and debate for authorised parties, observer delegates, and the general public. The ADSW Partnership Hub will conduct a number of planned cooperative activities in the Green Zone that will enable participants to share ideas and create fruitful business connections. The hub will hold networking events in the evenings so that participants may unwind, interact, and exchange ideas on climate action.

Several interviews will be broadcast live and directly from the Green Zone on ADSW's virtual content platform, ADSW Live, which will also be monitoring daily responses to climate talks and disseminating timely, pertinent information wrap-ups on sustainability.

The WiSER programme will also be highlighted at ADSW at COP28. WiSER is dedicated to elevating women and girls as innovators and change agents and to making sure their voices are heard in the sustainability conversation. Throughout COP28, WiSER will work on several activations.

The Y4S Forum will be held at Masdar's "Youth 4 Sustainability" project, on December 8, which actively invests in and supports the development of young people to become tomorrow's sustainability leaders. The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Investcorp, and HSBC are among the ADSW at COP28's confirmed sponsors.
