NewsA government meeting has begun in Sharjah regarding the environmental and food security measures the emirate is supporting. In the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC), His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, officially launched the 12th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) on Wednesday.
The talks at this year's conference, which is organised around the topic "Today's Resources... Tomorrow's Wealth," are concentrated on how nations and governments can work together to better exploit and maximise resources and transform them into sustainable prosperity for future generations. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed commended the Sharjah Ruler's aim for advancing the UAE's food security agenda in his opening statement and illustrated Sharjah's wheat harvest.
Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, the UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and Environment similarly noted that other nations should imitate the UAE's actions.
The Director-General of SGMB, Tariq Saeed Allay, emphasised the issues with wealth and resources throughout the world in his keynote address. He emphasised that the issue facing the globe today is not a lack of resources but how to efficiently manage and spend them.
