September 28 declared a holiday in Sharjah to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed

The Human Resources Department of the Government of Sharjah today stated that all offices, organisations, and institutions that are part of the government of Sharjah would be closed on Thursday, September 28, in observance of the Prophet Mohammed's (peace be upon him) birthday. Circular No. 8 of 2023, which was sent to the owners and directors of these firms, announced this choice. This implies that Sharjah's government employees will get a four-day holiday as Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are already the emirate's standard off days.

The Prophet's Birthday holiday will be observed on Thursday, September 28, and regular business hours will resume on Monday, October 2. Employees in the public and private sectors will have a paid holiday on Friday, September 29, to celebrate the Prophet's birthday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE). The UAE Cabinet Resolution, which lists the authorised public holidays for both the public and private sectors in 2023, is in accordance with this choice.

Prophet Mohammed's birthday is on September 27 this year, however in the UAE, the holiday has been combined with the weekend.
