Ras Al Khaimah now offers new 4x4 taxis specially designed to assist during emergencies

New 4x4 taxis are now available in Ras Al Khaimah that are specifically made to help in emergency situations but can also be used in everyday situations. The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) introduced this taxi service on November 8 with the goal of offering dependable transportation in the event of flooding and heavy rain. Modern security cameras installed in the cabs are connected to RAKTA's Intelligent Control and Monitoring Center, which provides real-time vehicle tracking for the safety of the drivers and the comfort of the passengers. Additionally, every cab has a smart meter for 24/7 fleet tracking, providing accuracy and transparency in fare calculations.

The Careem mobile app, which is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones, allows passengers to reserve a RAKTA 4x4 cab. Currently, the service will be available in inclement weather and operates throughout the emirate.

Process of reserving:

1. Get the Careem app and register for an account. 

2. On the app's home screen, choose "Hala Taxi" after logging in. 

3. Type in and verify where you want to be picked up and dropped off. 

4. Decide on the kind of car you want.

5. Decide on your mode of payment. 

6. Check the estimated fare and press "Yalla!" to make sure. 

To reserve the ride in advance, press the clock/calendar icon next to the "Yalla!" button and choose the time and date that work best for you.
