Dubai Municipality has planted nearly 2.5 million flowers and plants and 6,500 trees

NewsWith the planting of 6,500 trees and approximately 2.5 million flowers and plants, the Dubai Municipality has greatly improved the beauty of Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. The project, which covered 1.4 million square meters and included important roads and crossroads, aims to enhance these important routes' sustainability and visual appeal.
The project is a part of Dubai's larger "Green Dubai" campaign, which aims to promote environmental sustainability and expand the city's green spaces. There were seven main places where the planting was done. Four 843,000 square meter developments, including crossings such Al Yelayes Street and Al Jameel Street, were finished on Sheikh Zayed Road.
In addition to 3,500 trees, about 1.5 million flowers and plant seedlings were planted at these locations. Additionally, 290,000 square meters of soil mulch were applied to stop erosion.
Three large-scale developments totaling 625,000 square meters were part of Al Khail Road. 3,000 trees and one million plant seedlings were planted to beautify important crossings such Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street and Al Meydan Street. In addition, 143,654 square meters of soil mulch were part of the initiatives.
The municipality alone planted more than 185,000 trees in 2023 last year.
