A new service has been launched in UAE wherein individuals can renew their Emirates ID card and passport from outside UAE

The United Arab Emirates has introduced a service that enables people to renew their passports and Emirates ID cards while travelling abroad. This long-awaited modification has been made by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security.

The applicant must directly apply for the transaction using the authority's specialised smart application, proving that they are the legitimate owner of the papers. This is a requirement that people must satisfy in order to use this service.

Nasser Ahmed Al-Abdouli, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security's Director of Customer Happiness Management, clarified how Emirati ID cards may be renewed from overseas in an Arabic newspaper called Emarat AlYoum. He stated that the renewal service is now only available through the authority's clever application. If it is discovered that the requester is from outside the UAE, it will be refused if it is submitted through printing facilities or by someone other than the transaction owner within the nation.

Al-Abdouli went into more detail on the procedures involved in renewing ID cards from abroad during an interview with "Noor Dubai" radio. People living outside of the UAE can use their mobile phones to use the authority's smart application, he said. They may choose the service for overseas ID card renewals, submit their application, pay the costs, and finish the transaction without any problems.

Al-Abdouli asked everyone to abide by the rules while taking a picture for the paperwork, especially citizens. It is important to adhere to the formal dress code.

These standard requirements include:

• The official attire of the United Arab Emirates should be worn by the person.
• Head coverings permitted in accordance with customs and traditions.
• A white background must be used.
• A high-quality and recent coloured photo taken within the last six months (35-40 mm), must be provided.
• One must ensure that the head is positioned straight and parallel to the camera lens.
• A neutral facial expression must  be maintained.
• Both eyes are to be kept open and facing the camera without coloured contact lenses.
• The glasses should not obstruct the eyes or cause reflections.
• The image resolution should be at least 600 dots per inch, free from ink marks or wrinkles.

When requesting for renewal or replacement, the authority strongly advises all customers to verify the legitimacy and correctness of their ID numbers and expiration dates.

To prevent any delays in the execution of their transactions, they should also double-check the accuracy of the data supplied in the electronic form before completing the payment. People are also urged to double-check the authenticity of any phone numbers, email addresses, and preferred delivery methods indicated on an electronic form.
