A new initiative announced in Abu Dhabi will now provide Golden Visas to superyacht owners in the capital. The 'Golden Quay' aims to entice high-net-worth individuals to invest in and experience Abu Dhabi.
The initiative was launched by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Yas Marina, which is operated by Miral's subsidiary Yas Asset Management. This allows qualifying yacht owners to be nominated for a 10-year UAE Golden Visa, granting them long-term residency. Yacht owners can gain unmatched access to the emirate's investment prospects via the Golden Quay. The effort aligns with the city's Tourism Strategy 2030.
The visa is open to private yacht owners with yachts of 40 metres or more, as well as significant executives in the yachting industry such as CEOs, large shareholders of yacht-building businesses, central yacht agents, yacht service providers, and yacht insurance providers. Immediate family members of nominees are also eligible to participate.
Yas Marina and ADIO will be the official nominating bodies.
