The Emirates Astronomical Society's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, predicts that the new lunar month will start on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 7:22 a.m. UAE time. This announces the beginning of the month of Dhu Al Qa'dah 1445, whose first day is Thursday, May 9.
In the future, the month of Dhu Al Hijjah 1445 is predicted to begin on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 16, is celebrated as the Day of Arafat.
Eid Al Adha, the culmination of the Islamic pilgrimage, is expected to occur on Monday, June 17, which corresponds to Dhul Hijjah 10–12.
