UAE has won the bid to host the World Conservation Congress of the IUCN in 2025

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has chosen the UAE to host its World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi in 2025. On behalf of Abu Dhabi and the government of the UAE, the Environment Agency—Abu Dhabi (EAD) filed the offer.Following the IUCN Governing Council's ratification of the bid evaluation committee's recommendations at its meeting in Gland, Switzerland, on May 25, the findings were made public. The IUCN Council, which is the body in charge of overseeing and generally controlling all IUCN operations, is presided over by the president and is made up of elected members from every region as well as a Chair of Commissions.

The UAE and its leadership's dedication to environmental preservation, combating climate change, and sustainability is further reaffirmed by their successful proposal to host the IUCN World Conservation Congress in 2025.

By cultivating close ties with important international environmental groups like the IUCN, Abu Dhabi has continued to remain at the forefront of nature preservation. Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, the agency's managing director, is the current president of the IUCN, and Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, the EAD's secretary-general, is a Global Councillor.
