The third phase of the Dubai 10X initiative; aims to transform government operations and make Dubai a global leader in progressive governance

In the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), announced the beginning of the third phase of the Dubai 10X initiative on Thursday. The 10X programme, which is run by DFF, aims to transform government operations and make Dubai a global leader in progressive governance by igniting a mentality change among public servants.

In 2017, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, posed a crucial question to 37 director generals of Dubai Government entities: How can Dubai surpass the world's leading cities?" Sheikh Hamdan said during a meeting with senior government officials. In response, the Dubai 10X project was launched with the goal of amplifying the present successes and elevating Dubai to the forefront of the world's future cities. The approved proposal, which will be made public when it is ready, will be executed in collaboration with a variety of public and private sector groups, and its success will be judged on how much it will really improve the lives of Dubai residents.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Managing Director of Dubai Future Foundation, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Secretary Abdulla Al Basti also attended the launch of the initiative's third phase.

The Dubai 10X initiative has played a pivotal role, since its launch under DFF,  in the development of many future-focused projects that were approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.

The 'Police Without Policemen' programme of the Dubai Police, which aims to provide distinctive safety and security systems for the Dubai community, took part in Dubai 10X. The system connects all of Dubai's current private and public surveillance networks to a central operations centre of intelligent cameras with functions including motion detection, smoke detection, and intrusion detection.

The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) established Moro Hub as part of Dubai 10X, providing cloud and next-generation digital services.

As part of Dubai 10X, the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in Dubai started the "Now" initiative to expand commerce and freight using conventional ships by implementing contemporary technologies to raise ship operating efficiency and reduce loading, transport and freight times. Smartphone applications are used in the virtual market to link vendors with ship owners and break down communication barriers. It mostly targets businesses and goods at the moment, but it may also target people and personal packages in the future.

As part of Dubai 10X, the Dubai Land Department created the Dubai REST platform, which offers a virtual workspace for conducting real estate transactions without being physically present in Dubai. It is the first real estate platform in Dubai to let investors make judgements about real estate investments online.

The Dubai 10X programme, started in 2017 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, intends to improve the quality of life for residents of Dubai, offer cutting-edge public services, and address several issues. In addition to enabling different government departments in Dubai to exchange experiences, skills, resources, and expertise, it strengthens Dubai's leadership position as a worldwide hub for governance innovation. Additionally, it offers a framework for starting cooperative projects in key areas including tourism, the economy, security, media, health, crisis management, community life, infrastructure, sustainability, and education.
