NewsThe Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) launched the 'Sustainable Tourism Stamp' on Monday, a new sustainability programme that acknowledges hotels that comply to the DET's 19 'Sustainability Requirements' the best. The new stamp is intended to speed efforts to empower the tourist sector in order for it to meet its sustainability targets and to promote the UAE's NetZero 2050 strategy. It will validate the hotel's commitment to sustainability and highlight its sustainable practises.
Hotels of all categories must fulfil the highest levels of DET's 19 Sustainability Standards, which include elements such as energy and water efficiency, waste management programmes, and employee education and engagement programmes, to receive the stamp.
