Emirates is set to introduce an additional scheduled service between Colombo and Dubai, starting January 2, 2025. The new flight, operating as EK654/655, will boost seat capacity on the route by 30 percent, supporting Sri Lanka’s efforts to significantly increase tourist arrivals in 2025.
The added service will run six times a week until March 31, 2025. EK654 will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:05 am (excluding Wednesdays) and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, at 4:00 pm (local time).
The return flight, EK655, will leave BIA at 10:00 pm and land at DXB at 1:05 am the following day.
From April 1, 2025, a seventh weekly flight on Wednesdays will be introduced, with a revised schedule. EK654 will depart Dubai at 10:05 pm and arrive in Colombo at 12:55 am, while EK655 will leave Colombo at 1:20 pm and arrive back in Dubai at 7:15 pm.
Currently, Emirates operates two direct flights between Colombo and Dubai, along with a third daily service via Male.
The additional service will accommodate up to 360 passengers, featuring 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 310 Economy Class seats, ensuring a premium travel experience.
