New initiative to empower the UAE workforce was announced; aims to reskill, retool, and retire UAE employees

A new programme unveiled on Wednesday would enable the labour force in the United Arab Emirates to stay up to date with advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). The program's objectives are to retire and retrain UAE workers. At the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils 2023, Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, made the following announcement. The program's implementation schedule and method were not immediately apparent.

The discussion also included issues related to data equity, women's empowerment, sustainable development, and the relationship between human progress and the environment. The Global Future Councils 2023 Annual Meeting was held in Dubai from October 16–18. 600 professionals from 30 Global Future Council members represented academia, government, industry, international organisations, and civil society at the event.
