Air India Express has doubled its charges for the service provided to unaccompanied minors

NewsAir India Express, India's low-cost carrier, has raised its fees for services supplied to unaccompanied kids. Minor Service Charges, which are payable in addition to ticket costs, have been increased from Rs5,000 (about. Dh221) to Rs10,000 (approx. Dh442). An Air India Express contact centre representative stated that the fee for an unaccompanied youngster is Dh450 one way, adding that the fees were changed two months ago.
In 2018, the airline imposed extra fees in addition to the ticket price for unaccompanied children travelling to and from Dubai Airports. The allegations have now been raised, according to Indian media sources. According to Air India's website, children aged 5 to 18 are considered unaccompanied minors in the UAE. Children aged 5 to 16 are targeted in other Gulf nations.
More than 65 years after selling it to the government, the Tata Group purchased state-owned Air India for Rs180 billion (about Dh8.8 billion) in 2021. The airline was created in 1932 by the group. The airline is now undergoing a series of changes, including a merger with the Tata-owned airline firm Vistara and the creation of new uniforms.
