One of the most significant holidays in Chinese culture is the Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year. This year it is the Year of the Dragon which represents strength, power, and good fortune. Residents can take part in activities held from February 2–11, celebrating Chinese traditions and customs around the city, savour delectable cuisine at some of Dubai's best restaurants, and take advantage of fantastic deals at the city's finest malls and lifestyle hotspots.

 

Dragon Mart

Take part in the festivities at Dragon Mart to the fullest. Visitors can enjoy top-notch entertainment at the 150,000 square metre dragon-shaped mall, which has acts like the 20-performer Big Dragon Dance and the Lion Dance, which features drummers who beat out the movements of the lions. Watch the Umbrella Dance and the Dragon Kung Fu show, where each performance has a different dance. For those who appreciate Chinese theatre, don't miss to see the Peking Opera Show, which features dramatic and enduringly beautiful performances. See how the cast brings the magnificent clothes to life for the characters.

 

Dubai Festival City Mall 

February 2 to 11

The 2024 Spring Festival Gala, the most viewed television show on the planet, will be shown live on February 9 at 4 p.m. (Dubai time) at Terminal 3 and Chinatown in Dubai Mall.
