"We Collaborate for Tomorrow" has been set as the theme for this year's Emirati Women's Day

The "Mother of the Nation," Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, who also serves as Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), has directed that the theme of this year's Emirati Women's Day, be "We Collaborate for Tomorrow.". The day is being observed on August 28. The theme "We Collaborate for Tomorrow" was selected to coincide with the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Sustainability" by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlighting the UAE's commitment to identifying ground-breaking solutions to energy, sustainability, and climate change challenges.

Sheikha Fatima stated in her statement, "This national holiday is a priority for us. Every year, we proudly announce an exciting theme for Emirati Women's Day. This day highlights several goals that are consistent with the nation's leadership in the world in honouring and empowering women. "The UAE has incorporated gender balance into the social fabric of the country. This demonstrates how important it is for the local and federal government, public society, and the commercial sector to work together to advance this field's accomplishments.

"With COP28 scheduled for November 2023, the UAE is preparing to address the critical issues related to climate change," she continued. During COP28, notable female leaders will be in charge, making up two-thirds of the leadership team and more than 50% of the administrative staff. We will be setting an example by recognising the competence, excellence, and creativity of Emirati women in a sustainable manner.

The collaborative model that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's founding father, established to guarantee incorporation of all facets of the community in the country's march towards growth is also highlighted by Sheikha Fatima's selection of this year's theme.
