Visitors will have free entry to all flagship pavilions of Expo City Dubai on May 19, to celebrate International Museum Day

To celebrate International Museum Day on May 19, all major pavilions at Expo City Dubai will be open to tourists for free. Along with seven attractions, the location will also offer specially designed educational activities and a treasure hunt built around the year's topic of "Museums, Sustainability, and Wellbeing."

The offerings from Expo City include the three Stories of Nations Pavilions, Terra, the Women's and Vision Pavilions, Alif, the Mobility Pavilion, and Terra. The free admission follows International Museum Day, which is observed every year on May 18.

Along with hosting educational tours, storytelling sessions, physical theatre workshops and a 'tinker table' for play-based learning, Terra will exhibit climate-focused films in association with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi.

Visitors of all ages may participate in creative activities in the Women's and Vision Pavilions while curious minds can learn about motors, sensors, and the fundamentals of engineering by building robot hands in a Lego workshop at Alif.

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) established International Museum Day in 1977, and it recognises a different topic each year. The Sustainable Development Goals have been the main emphasis since 2020, and it has highlighted how museums may assist design sustainable futures through educational programmes, exhibitions, community engagement, and research.

Expo City Dubai is devoted to environmental protection and is a model for sustainable urban development. It is hosting COP28 in November 2023 and has programming that help visitors understand their influence on the world and are motivated to contribute to the preservation of the environment.
