The UAE and Uzbekistan have inked a visa exemption agreement, enabling passport holders more freedom of travel between the two nations, in an effort to deepen relations and improve economic possibilities. Through the agreement, citizens of the two nations may travel visa-free between Special, Mission, and regular passports that are valid for at least six months.
This memorandum eliminates the need for UAE citizens with regular or Special passports that are valid for at least six months to apply for an electronic visa prior to entering Uzbekistan. Alternatively, each visit may last up to 30 days.
Likewise, from January 15, 2024, Uzbek nationals with biometric passports marked for "International travel abroad" and "Domestic return to Uzbekistan only" will not need a visa to visit the United Arab Emirates.
The Memorandum was signed by Abdulaziz Akkulov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, and Khaled Abdullah Belhoul, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its objectives are to improve bilateral relations and ease travel between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
