Al Bateen, Yas Island, and Khalifa Port are the three main sites in Abu Dhabi where vertiports will be built, the announcement was made on Tuesday.
Skyports Infrastructure and LODD, an Abu Dhabi-based business that specializes in autonomous aerial logistics and AI-powered drone technology, announced the partnership at the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS).
"The establishment of a vertiport network will facilitate the operation of autonomous aerial logistics and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the United Arab Emirates," the two businesses stated.
According to LODD, the three vertiports in Abu Dhabi offer the "potential for connectivity between locations across the UAE" in addition to connecting important sites within the Emirate.
