Vehicle plate ownership can be transferred without having to visit the Dubai RTA centres

It is now possible to change the ownership of licence plate without physically visiting the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) offices in Dubai. The RTA introduced the UAE Pass service, which enables people to finish the transfer procedure in a matter of taps, as part of an endeavour to expedite the purchase and selling of number plates.

The procedure calls for the buyer and seller to use their UAE Passes to sign a sales purchase agreement (SPA). The following guide outlines requirements that must be met:

• The sales price and mode of payment must be established by the buyer and seller.
• The buyer's information, such as their phone number, traffic file, or UAE Pass, must be obtained by the vendor.
• The UAE Pass that has been confirmed will be used to register the selling and purchasing procedure.
• The last step entails paying the specified service costs.

The new service complies with the leadership's directions to make Dubai the world's smartest city and the RTA's digital transformation plan.
