UAEV has been officially launched in Abu Dhabi with a network covering all seven emirates

With a network spanning all seven emirates, UAEV, the first electric vehicle (EV) charging network completely owned by the government, was formally introduced in Abu Dhabi. The goal of the joint venture between Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) and the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) is to deploy 100 charging units by the end of this year and grow it up to 1,000 by 2030.

By 2030, the effort hopes to cut CO2 emissions by 100,000 tonnes, or the planting of 1.8 million trees. UAEV will provide 160kW fast-charging stations at key places throughout the UAE that are open to the general public, including taxi drivers.

Up until the end of the year, it will be available for free; after that, finalized pricing will be announced. The JV will encourage people who have previously bought an EV and increase the appeal of making the conversion to EVs.

With this new agreement, UAE citizens will find it easier to become green and the country will be able to meet the present demand for EV infrastructure.

The UAEV has deployed its first batch of electric vehicles (EVs) in Ajman, and more will be installed throughout the nation in the upcoming months. The nation's Net Zero 2050 Strategy will be supported and economic growth will be unlocked by the sustainable transportation infrastructure.
