UAE witnessed its heaviest rainfall in 75 years

The UAE saw the heaviest rainfall in 75 years, more than any other recorded precipitation since data gathering started in 1949, from late Monday to Tuesday night.

The Khatm Al Shakla region of Al Ain had the most rainfall, according to the weather service, with 254 mm falling in less than a day. According to the National Centre of Meteorology, on March 9, 2016, the Shuwaib station recorded 287.6 mm.

The nation had numerous challenges in coping with the bad weather, but citizens and officials united to guarantee everyone's safety.

The center confirmed that the country experienced record rainfall over the course of the last 24 hours, ending at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. This is an unprecedented event in the UAE's climate history since the beginning of climate data collection, and it is anticipated that more rainfall will be recorded in the hours to come.

This very high level of precipitation in the UAE helps to fortify the nation's groundwater reserves overall and raises the average annual rainfall in the country.
