UAE Tour Women cycling race;  Abu Dhabi authorities have announced rolling road closures on Friday

The UAE Tour Women cycling competition will be held on Friday, therefore, the Abu Dhabi authorities have planned continuous road restrictions. There will be rolling closures in several areas of the UAE capital on Thursday from 12.30 p.m. until 4.30 p.m., according to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi.

 

The Tour's second stage will run from Madinat Zayed to Al Mirfa Bab Al Nojoum.

According to the ITC-provided map, there will be two phases of closure: the first from 12.30 to 12.55 p.m. and the second from 12.55 to 1.30 p.m. The fourth phase, which runs from 1.40 to 2.30 p.m., comes after the third, which runs from 1.30 to 1.40 p.m. Phase five will take place from 2.30 to 3 p.m., while phase six will take place from 3 p.m. to 3.10 p.m. There will be a shutdown for the seventh phase from 3.10 to 3.20 p.m., and an eighth phase from 3.20 to 3.30 p.m. The ninth phase runs from 3.30 to 3.35 p.m., while the tenth phase runs from 3.35 to 3.45 p.m. The eleventh and last phase will take place from 4.30 to 3.45 p.m.

The Modon Stage is the second stage of the Tour, requiring cyclists from the 20 teams to go 113 km. The authorities advised drivers to follow traffic laws and regulations and to drive cautiously.

The Tour is in its second year, and the competition will end on February 11.

The cyclists covered 122 km in the opening stage, known as the Dubai Stage, which took place in Dubai on Thursday. The route carried them from Dubai Miracle Garden to Dubai Harbour. On certain highways, there was a temporary traffic stoppage in effect from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm for ten to fifteen minutes.

Hessa Street, Al Khail Street, Sports City, Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Street, Al Qudra Street, Saih Al Salam Street, Saih Al Dahl Street, Umm Suqeim Street, and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street were among the places impacted, according to the Roads and Transport Authority.

On Saturday, the third stage will take riders from the Al Ain Police Museum to Jebel Hafeet. On the fourth and final stage, the cyclists will begin at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum and end at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
