UAE to host the 2nd international workshop on Managing the Performance of UN Police Commanders in Peacekeeping Operations

The second worldwide workshop on "Managing the Performance of UN Police Commanders in Peacekeeping Operations" will be held in Abu Dhabi from September 14–17, and the UAE will be represented by the Ministry of the Interior. The workshop, being held in the UAE for the second year in a row, will feature important speeches from the UAE envoy, UN officials, and well-known individuals from various United Nations peace operations missions.

The workshop is in line with the UAE's dedication to fostering international meetings and advancing collaboration, as led by its visionary leadership. These initiatives are the result of the conviction that the state plays a crucial role in advancing the international community, which ultimately benefits all people everywhere. This involves boosting national prestige and influence abroad, bolstering peace and stability throughout the world, and promoting global security.

The training covers a wide range of topics, including performance advances and the guiding principles for United Nations peacekeeping operations. The workshop also looks into ways to increase support from states and international organisations for peacekeeping operations, guaranteeing their sustainability and facilitation.

At the workshop, eminent speakers will discuss a range of subjects, including how peacekeeping forces can adapt to shifting operational environments, ways to increase their effectiveness, difficulties with modernization and development, and how to establish operational benchmarks for performance assessment.
