UAE SWAT Challenge in Dubai on February 3; prize money increased from $170,000 to $260,000

News EventThe UAE SWAT Challenge in Dubai will now award $260,000 in prize money instead of $170,000. Starting on February 3, the Training City in Al Ruwayyah will host the fifth iteration of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) tournament for teams.
The competition, which the Dubai Police are hosting, runs through February 7. The event is free to view for both locals and visitors. Guests are welcome to join and take part in their own SWAT-style tournaments. They may try on traditional clothing at vendors or visit cookery stations at a unique history village.
A record 87 teams from 48 nations have signed up for this year's challenge, including two mixed teams and five all-women teams. To win the big prize, participating teams must triumph in the various tasks. The winning team will take home $80,000, with the next four teams earning $40,000, $30,000, and $15,000, respectively. Cash rewards will be awarded to the remaining ten teams as well.
Everyday tasks will have prizes. The winning team will get $5,000, while the second and third places will get $3,000 and $2,000 each. The five challenges that teams will participate in include the tower challenge, assault competition, officer rescue, obstacle course, and tactical competition. Every task demands competence, physical prowess, and tactical acumen.
Additionally, a special edition of the Dubai Police's e-sports competition has been announced. Eight teams totaling forty players will participate in two games. With a total prize money of Dh50,000, the tournament will include "Counter Strike 2" and "Valorant."
This year, eight new teams are competing for the first time. The challenge's 2024 edition has the most teams participating than any previous year.
