Dubai unveiled the first discount pharmacy concept in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday. The concept offers year-round savings on over 30,000 health goods and non-prescription medications. Pharmacy for Less, located at the Dubai Outlet Mall, is a one-stop shop that sells a variety of health and wellness items, such as vitamins, supplements, non-prescription medications, skincare, cosmetics, sports nutrition, and items for mothers and babies.
According to Jobilal M. Vavachan, CEO of Life Healthcare Group, affordability will not just benefit end consumers. He explained that since health authorities set prescription drug costs, discounts would not apply to them.
He clarified that because they "are the largest pharmacy network in the UAE," they are able to reduce the cost of health supplies. Affordability is also influenced by strategic placement. The recently established 8,000-square-foot Pharmacy for Less is ideally situated inside Dubai Outlet Mall, a discount shopping centre. In the following two years, Life Healthcare Group "plans to float a chain of 25 discounted pharmacy stores across the UAE.
