UAE’s first all-female camel racing team, the Dubai-based Arabian Desert Camel Riding Club, completes 100km ride through Jordan

The Arabian Desert Camel Riding Club (ADCRC), situated in Dubai, is used to pushing boundaries. It is home to the first all-female camel racing squad in the United Arab Emirates and the founders of the first women's camel racing league in the country. They participated in the first-ever women-only camel race in Saudi Arabia in August at the Crown Prince Camel Festival. Spectators may watch their exciting races at the Dubai Camel Racing Club for free.

Another significant turning point for the club was the group's recent excursion to Wadi Rum, Jordan. The group, consisting of six riders and two Bedouin guides, slept on mats and blankets beneath the stars with the only help coming from a vehicle that trailed behind with rudimentary supplies.

The primary trip planner was Jana Schmiedel, a member of the ADCRC camel racing squad. The crew rode for around eight hours each day throughout the two-and-a-half-day journey, passing through some of the most secluded and unexplored parts of the stunning desert.

The female members of ADCRC come from a variety of backgrounds and countries, including Emiratis. The racing season runs from October to March, with the next event scheduled for November 25.
