The state-operated electric vehicle (EV) charging network, UAEV, announced on Thursday that its revised tariffs will come into effect starting January 2025. According to the new pricing structure, DC chargers will be available at Dh1.20 per kWh, plus VAT, while AC chargers will cost Dh0.70 per kWh, plus VAT.
These changes are regarded as a pivotal step toward enhancing the sustainability and scalability of EV charging infrastructure. It’s worth noting that EV charging services have remained complimentary since the introduction of tariffs in May.
UAEV is also set to roll out a mobile application offering features such as locating nearby charging stations, real-time status updates, and easy payment options.
In addition, UAEV is launching a 24/7 call centre dedicated to providing immediate support and assistance, ensuring a smooth experience for users at any time.
“The establishment of standardised tariffs and innovative solutions like the UAEV app and round-the-clock support underline our dedication to improving the EV user experience. By growing our network and supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, we are paving the way for a more sustainable, eco-friendly future,” said Sharif al Olama, Chairman of UAEV.
