Sharjah government employees will have a five-day weekend, according to local authorities for the UAE National Day.
According to the emirate's human resources department, they will receive paid holidays on Monday and Tuesday, December 2 and 3, and regular business will resume on Wednesday, December 4.
Public sector workers in Sharjah will have a five-day weekend since the official weekend runs from Friday to Sunday.
The statement was made shortly after the UAE government announced that federal agencies and ministries would have holidays.
Similar holidays will be granted to private sector workers in the United Arab Emirates, as stated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (Mohre).
