UAE launched new initiative to train one billion individuals around the world in fire safety

One billion people worldwide will receive fire safety and preparedness training as part of an ambitious new initiative started by the United Arab Emirates. The '1 Billion Readiness' initiative seeks to offer virtual training in partnership with 16 major firefighting organizations and 34 nations worldwide.

The plan is one of the biggest worldwide initiatives to improve fire safety and protection, according to Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.

This project is to teach and train one billion people globally on fire safety practices between 2025 and 2027. As part of this effort, the Hope Convoys project will establish fire stations and send vital equipment to developing nations, improving their capacity for emergency preparedness and response.

The Global Wildfire Monitoring Centre and the Dubai Civil Defence Readiness Program will offer a recognized electronic certificate to graduates of the three courses, attesting to their readiness and training.
