UAE is set to install more than 500 new electric vehicle charging stations this year

This year, around 500 new EV charging stations are expected to be installed in the United Arab Emirates.
A growing number of people are switching to cars that need EV charging In the UAE. More than 34,000 lower-emission vehicles were registered on Dubai roads alone in 2024, indicating the country's growing use of these vehicles.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure's Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Sharif Al Olama, has committed to installing more than 500 EV charging stations nationwide this year.
With this most recent commitment, more than half of the 2030 amount would be deployed nationwide in just two years, after the installation of 100 in 2024.
The UAE is quickly growing its current network to assist those who own electric vehicles in response to the growing demand.
Over 500 stations will be installed by the end of the year as part of an integrated strategy that involves cooperation with local government and the business sector.
