UAE is set to generate a total capacity of 19.8 gigawatts of clean energy by 2030

Suhail bin Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure announced the UAE's plan to produce 19.8 gigawatts of sustainable energy by 2030 to an audience of world energy leaders on Monday during the start of ADIPEC 2023.

Al Mazrouei said, "The UAE is set to generate a total capacity of 19.8 gigawatts of clean energy by 2030, having one of the fastest-growing clean energy industries in the world." He was speaking at ADIPEC's ministerial forum on the topic of "Fast Tracking the Energy Transition." By aiming towards generating 1.4 million metric tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen annually by 2031 and 15 million metric tonnes annually by 2050, the UAE also aspires to become a major producer and supplier of this fuel. He reaffirmed the necessity of international cooperation in resolving energy-related issues.

According to Tayba Al Hashemi, CEO of ADNOC Offshore and Chair of ADIPEC 2023, by 2030, there will be an additional half a billion people inhabiting the planet, increasing the global need for energy. At the same time, the urgent need for paradigm-shifting solutions to stop emissions is necessitated by the worldwide problem of climate change. Every government, industry, business, and person has a part to play in hastening the decarbonization process and building the energy of the future, while preserving energy security and making sure no one is left behind.
