UAE nationals will soon be able to enter the US more quickly if they have a valid US visa. The United States and the United Arab Emirates inked a deal to add the nation to the "Global Entry Programme," facilitating Emiratis' cross-border travel.
The initiative will be put into action beinning in October 2024.
Accelerating entrance processes into US ports of entry is the goal of the Global entrance program. As part of the scheme, passengers entering the US would enter more quickly and security will be improved.
When visiting a US port of entry or US Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility, passengers who have already undergone pre-screening for Global Entry can check in at a Global Entry kiosk right away, skipping the lengthy lineups and extra paperwork.
To enter the US, participants in Global Entry must still possess a valid US visa.
The government authorities of the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America will collaborate to establish and complete the requirements necessary for the UAE to fully join the Global Entry program.
An agreement between the US Department of Homeland Security and the UAE Ministry of Interior was signed by both nations. The formal visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed to the US coincided with the signing.
