The 20 safest airlines in the world as of 2023 include all UAE airlines, including both full-fledged and low-cost carriers. Flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air are among the top 20 safest low-cost carriers in the world for 2023, according to AirlineRatings.com. Emirates and Etihad Airways were listed as the safest full-fledged carriers.
The following low-cost airlines were also included on the list: AirAsia, Allegiant, Air Baltic, easyjet, Frontier, Jetstar Group, Jetblue, Indigo, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest, Spicejet, Spirit, Vueling, Vietjet, Volaris, and Westjet.
Qantas, Air New Zealand, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air, Alaska Airlines, EVA Air, Virgin Australia/Atlantic, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, SAS, United Airlines, Lufthansa/Swiss Group, Finnair, British Airways, KLM, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines are among the full-fledged carriers listed.
The research, which looked at 385 airlines, considered a number of variables, including fleet age, incident and crash records from the previous two and five years, and audit findings from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which is the aviation industry's regulating body.
