UAE Cabinet approves extending the validity of Emirati passports from five to 10 years

The UAE Cabinet, on Monday, approved a major improvement that would increase the five-year validity of the Emirati passport to ten years for individuals who are 21 years of age or older. The decision was taken on Monday in Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi at a Cabinet meeting presided over by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

The new regulation is a significant step towards improving passport services and meeting individuals' changing demands. The extension of passport validity is consistent with the Federal Law on Nationality and Passport's recently updated executive rules. In addition to extending the passport's validity, these modifications include new features and all-inclusive digital services to improve Emirati citizens' entire passport experience.

The government's dedication to modernising and streamlining administrative procedures while putting the ease and contentment of its citizens first is reflected in this measure.
