UAE-based technology firm AstraTech plans to expand across India, Pakistan, and Egypt as part of its global expansion strategy

In the near future, the UAE-based technology company AstraTech plans to broaden its operations throughout Egypt, Pakistan, and India as part of its aim to expand internationally. Abdallah Abu Sheikh, founder of AstraTech and CEO of the Botim platform, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of his participation in the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) in Sharjah: "Last month, we acquired a banking company in the Philippines as part of our global expansion, and now we are looking at the Indian, Pakistani, and Egyptian markets."

He added that announcements of acquisitions in the domains of financial technology and social communication in businesses outside the UAE will be made in the first quarter of the next year. "I do not expect any funding rounds for the company at the moment, as profitability is high, and the situation is stable," Abu Sheikh remarked in reference to future financing rounds.

He went on to say that the Botim programme has evolved into an "Ultra Platform" since it provides financial services like international money transfers in addition to communication services. "The platform makes it possible for anyone without bank accounts to get a Botim card, which can be used on Botim and is recognised all around the world. Additionally, it offers payment options for businesses that do not desire an expensive or pricey payment system. He cited the Botim application's monthly amount of financial transactions, which includes different transfers and payments, as being close to Dh1 billion. In the next year, he anticipates Botim will surpass all other financial platforms in the nation.
