UAE announced Eid Al Fitr holiday dates for government sector employees

The UAE announced on Monday the dates of the Eid Al Fitr holidays for all government employees across the nation.

According to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, the holidays will be starting on Shawwal 1 and ending on Shawwal 3, 1446 AH, corresponding to the Gregorian calendar.

Ramadan 30 (Sunday, March 30) will be added to the Eid Al Fitr holidays as an official holiday if the holy month of Ramadan completes 30 days.

According to the Georgian calendar, Eid Al Fitr will fall on Sunday, March 30, if the crescent is visible on March 29. For government employees, this translates to a three-day Eid Al Fitr holiday through April 1.

This will result in a four-day holiday from March 29 to April 1 because Saturday is a weekend for the majority of employees nationwide.

In the meantime, the first day of Shawwal will be Monday, March 31, if the Moon is not visible on March 29 and Ramadan lasts 30 days. This corresponds to an Eid vacation that lasts three days, from March 31 to April 2.

Residents will have a five-day long weekend in this instance, starting on March 29 and ending on April 2.
